Easy Fun Frozen Drink: Moonshine Mango Boozer. Plus, a Boozy Popsicle

This past Friday I received an awesome present from Mango.org: a box of mangoes.

They must have figured out that I mangoes.

Of course that got me thinking about what I could get in the mail if I renamed my blog Diamonds and Platinum or Caviar and Lobster, etc.

But let's get back to the topic.
As I said, I love mangoes and have eaten them as is. I also like incorporating them into ice cream, frozen yogurt, and muffins.

This time, I thought I'd do something different. I've had an unopened bottle of Moonshine courtesy of Troy & Sons from my Asheville trip, and decided to open it up and make a fun drink using it and mangoes.

Easy Fun Frozen Drink: Moonshine Mango Boozer

Ingredients for 2 drinks

1 cup diced mango

1/3 cup Moonshine

1 cup crushed ice

mint, optional

Directions

1. Add all ingredients to a blender. Blend till smooth.

2. Poor into cold glasses. Garnish with mint.

3. Drink.

For a bit of color, you can also add pomegranate or cranberry juice!

These were pretty strong, I must admit. I didn't think I could drink an entire glass, not to mention two. So I poured the mixture into an ice tray and made boozy popsicles! All you have to do is let the mixture freeze for about ten minutes, then add toothpicks and continue to freeze till these become solid. Or of course you could also use popsicle molds.

How fun would these be on a hot summer day or as a little mood enhancer before a night of dancing?

Stay tuned for another recipe with mangoes coming up soon: it'll be a savory one!

Disclosure: although I received mangoes and moonshine as gifts, I was under no obligations to blog about them. I was not compensated in any way.

Looks like fun! If we don't happen to have moonshine on hand, would you recommend rum?

Oh my god, this looks so yummy!!! I think I'd absolutely go bonkers for these drinks....do you think I could use any kind of whiskey in it?

  10. What a hysterical comment! I'm not much of a drinker, so not sure about whiskey. Give it a try but start with a smaller amount of whiskey and taste as you go. Report back!

  17. I didn't have moonshine, so I used pineapple juice, a bit of coconut milk, and a splash of vodka instead. It is divine!
